The Royal West of England Academy holds an Annual Open Exhibition, now in its 169th year. As the name suggests, anyone can enter their work for this mixed discipline show - previous years have included painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, film, sculpture and illustration, and attracted entries from artists across the UK and beyond. A selection panel assesses every entry and last year over 600 works by a variety of artists made it into the final exhibition. All work is for sale and the exhibition attracts art-lovers and art-buyers from far and wide.

The Annual Open Exhibition of Fine and Applied arts

The 192nd RHA Annual Exhibition 2022 is Ireland’s largest and longest running exhibition of visual art. Open to all artists working in paint, drawing, print, sculpture, photography and architecture, the RHA Annual attracts a large public and critical audience. With sales in excess of €600,000 in 2021, the Annual is a key event of the art calendar for both public and private buyers of all levels.
The open submission is vital to the strength and vitality of the RHA Annual. Works selected through the open submission process make up around 60% of the exhibition with the rest of the artworks from RHA Members and Invited Artists.
This year over €70,000 of prizes will be awarded to exhibiting artists. This prize fund, one of the largest in Ireland, is awarded to artists recognised for works of achievement.

Established in 1919, the Society of Graphic Fine Art exists to promote and exhibit original works of high quality in colour or black and white, with the emphasis on excellence in drawing and draughtsmanship, demonstrated by hand.

painting, charcoal, conté and any of the forms of original printmaking.
The Society holds an annual Open exhibition in London with selected work, several Members Only exhibitions with no selection, in London and the regions and also online exhibitions including the Open exhibition.

Open Submissions from Non Members
The Dublin Painting and Sketching Club (founded 1874) is pleased to announce its seventh Open Exhibition. Non-members are invited to submit paintings for the Club’s 2022 exhibition, which will be held in the Town Hall Space, Windmill Lane Quarter, Windmill Lane, Dublin 1 from 18th of Sept - 1st October 2022.
All forms of traditional 2D media may be submitted- including painting, drawing, printmaking, and mixed media.
Photography and giclee prints not accepted.
Up to two paintings can be submitted by artists resident/working in Ireland.
Please note: Only one painting will be selected for exhibition.

The Royal Ulster Academy of Arts (RUA) was founded in 1879 and is the largest and longest established body of practicing visual artists in Northern Ireland today.

Terms and Conditions of Entry - 169 Annual Open Exhibition
Section 1: Basic Entry Requirements
A maximum of 3 works may be submitted per applicant.
Work cannot have been exhibited previously at the RWA.
Artists are encouraged to submit recent work (produced within the last 3 years).
All works must be for sale (with the exception of Moving Image entries).
Prices should be predominantly under £10,000
All entries are subject to a two-stage selection process, however, and this year both selection stages will take place online. Artists will be notified after the second stage and Selected works will be required to be delivered to the RWA.
Section 2: Cost of Entry
Submission fees are charged per item:
£21 per item for General Public (£17.50+VAT)
£15.90 per item for Students (£13.25+VAT)
£15.90 per item for Friends of the RWA (£13.25+VAT)
£10.50 per item for RWA Artist Network members (£8.75+VAT)

Section 3: Submitting Work
All Entries
All submissions must be made online using our Online Exhibition Submission System (OESS) which can be accessed via our website. Please read the OESS user guide located on our website for further assistance.
All artists must submit one image of each work. This will be viewed online at pre-selection and final selection stages this year, therefore please ensure your images are as clear as possible.
If the work is 2D we do not need to see the frame in the image.
If work is 3D, more than one view may be submitted, so long as the they are edited into one image.
Images should be a JPEG file and should not exceed a maximum size of 1MB.
Please contact the RWA if you cannot access a computer.
Section 4: Medium – Admissible Works
4.1 Two-Dimensional Work
Two-dimensional work must not exceed 214 x 214cm (7ft x 7ft), including the frame.
The total size of a diptych or triptych must not exceed 214 x 214cm (7ft x 7ft).
Diptychs or triptychs must be clearly labelled in large letters on the back of the work.
Diptychs or triptychs must have one title and can only be sold as one work.
Painting, Drawing and Mixed Media
Reproductions of paintings and drawings, made by any process, are not eligible. This includes reproduction giclée prints.
Printmaking
All printmaking techniques are eligible e.g. etching, woodcut, lithograph, screen print, digital and photographic.
Prints may be unique (one-off) pieces or they may be signed, numbered and a limited edition.
Digital prints are eligible only if it is clear to the selectors that they are original artworks made by the creative use of digital technology and that they are not reproduction prints.
Artists are permitted to sell unframed multiples of selected work. Please see Section 12: Sale of Work.
Photography
Any medium is acceptable, including digital images, photography and photographic processes.
iPad Drawings
Digital artwork produced on an iPad is accepted but must be printed and displayed appropriately e.g. if it is framed please see Section 6: Frames and Fixings.
As per Printmaking it must be made clear to the selectors that they are original artworks made by the creative use of digital technology and that they are not reproduction prints.
The work should be numbered to denote edition size and as per Printmaking entries you must confirm how many multiples are available for sale.
iPad drawings cannot be displayed on iPads, unless provided by the artist.
Reproductions of paintings or drawings are ineligible.
4.2 Three-Dimensional Work
Sculpture
The maximum floor space for sculpture is 1m x 1m (3.3 x 3.3ft).
Please include any specific display instructions in Special Instructions.
Artists are permitted to sell multiples of selected work, e.g. bronzes. Please see Section 12: Sale of Work.
Please note that it may not be possible to display work as requested - although we aim to display work as close to the artist’s specifications as we can, we cannot guarantee that specific plinth sizes, for example, can be met. The curators’ decision is final.
Sculptures must weigh no more than is safe for two people to lift – 50kg (see details on regional transport for further restrictions).
The dimensions of the RWA lift are 3m height, 2.9m depth and 2m width.
The RWA has limited storage space therefore artists may be asked to collect any large / heavy or fragile sculpture that is not hung at the final selection stage before the exhibition opens.
Please ensure floor- and plinth-based works are stable.
When submitting sculpture, please consider the health and safety implications of exhibiting work in a public place. Where work is deemed to be a health and safety risk the decision of the RWA is final.
Installation
Maximum size must adhere to either 2D or 3D requirements (see above).
Please note that artists are not permitted to set-up installations in advance and must include full instructions for assembly and display with their entry. All installations are assembled and installed by RWA Technicians.
Installation components must not weigh more than is safe for two people to lift – 50kg (see details on regional transport for further restrictions).
The dimensions of the RWA lift are 3m height, 2.9m depth and 2m width. Installation components over this size must be easily portable, as they will need to be carried up the staircase.

4.3 Artist Books
Artist books are permitted for entry.
Please include display instructions in Special Instructions if necessary.
4.4 Architecture
Architectural entries can incorporate drawings, photography, digital imagery, sketches and plans as well as architectural models.
For architectural models size restrictions apply as per sculpture.
Architects can enter as individuals or as a practice. The maximum number of entries applies in both cases.
4.5 Moving Image
How to enter Moving Image Works
Entries should be made online as per entry guidelines.
Please include a still image with your submission, and, if possible, a URL to YouTube, Vimeo, etc.
Entries (by File Transfer or memory stick) must also be received by the RWA by 5pm on Thursday 11 August. If you are posting a memory stick, please clearly label your package ‘Submission – 169 AOE’ and send FAO Olive Haigh. Files can be transferred using the email address curating@rwa.org.uk
Moving Image Regulations
Moving image works should be a maximum duration of 10 minutes in length.
Single screen works or single channel works only.
All files should be submitted in the following file format: Quicktime Pro. Res. 422 (HD or 1920 x 1080 preferred, aspect ratio 16:9). Files not submitted in this format are not valid.
Please do not include title screens or credits as part of your file. The RWA will format these in adherence to house style using the information you have entered online. Any additional artists/practitioners/funders that you wish to credit on the work label should be included on your entry under ‘Special Instructions’.
Work will be shown on a flat screen 43inch monitor.
Section 5: Works Inadmissible
Works in frames or on stretchers to which mirror plates cannot be easily fixed.
Unframed works on paper that are unframed for reasons that are not aesthetic (see Section 6: Frames and Fixings).
Reproduction prints which are made to accurately reproduce an already created original image such as a painting, drawing or etching.
Due to installation limitations, we are unable to accept site-specific work entries.
Work containing offensive material. Please note that the decision of what constitutes offensive material is at the discretion of the RWA.
Section 6: Frames and Fixings
All framed work will be hung using mirror plates, therefore please ensure your work is suitably framed.
All fixtures must be removed from the back of framed work prior to delivery as remaining fixtures are one of the primary sources of damage to artworks.
The RWA will attach all relevant fixings to all placed works for hanging.
Where a work has a metal frame, the artist must include the original fixings with their entry.
Unframed work is acceptable where the decision has been made for aesthetic reasons.
Unframed work must include clear instructions for display and the artist must provide the relevant fixings with their entry.
If the Terms and Conditions state that the artist must submit fixings with the work, please provide these in a clear plastic bag or envelope and attach securely to the back of the work.
Section 7: Labelling Your Work
Labels must be printed out from the submission system on thin white card for each piece. This enables us to record that your work has entered the building.
The label should be securely attached to the work with a thin piece of string, preferably with staples or strong tape. Please do not use thick cord, rope or twine as this makes it difficult to tuck the label behind the work once it has been hung.
The string should be long enough to hang in front of the work when wall or plinth-mounted.
The artists’ name, address and title of work should also be written clearly on the back of the work.
The top of abstract works should be clearly marked on the back of the work.
Section 8: Delivery and Packaging
Works should arrive unwrapped. If you are delivering your work in person there will be space to unwrap your work on delivery. Packaging must then be removed from the RWA by the artist.
Fragile work may remain wrapped in a way that does not obscure the image during selection.
If your work is particularly large or heavy, please bring another person to assist wherever possible.
Section 9: International Entries
Artists submitting work from overseas must ensure that all customs paperwork is complete and that return documentation is attached to the work.
The RWA will not take responsibility for liaising with customs or external couriers.
Work should be suitably packaged for international transport. Work will not be packaged for return by RWA staff.
Section 10: Transport Costs
Regional transport from London, Exeter and Penzance will be available to book once selection results are available.
Please note the RWA will not cover any costs associated with the transport of works, including the cost of shipping, import or postage.
The RWA strongly advises artists against postal submissions and does not accept liability for damages to works whilst in transit or on the premises.
The RWA will not pack and label work for collection by couriers.
Section 11: Confirmation of Results
It is the artist’s responsibility to check their results online.
The RWA does NOT send emails confirming results.
The RWA is not responsible for an artist’s failure to receive results.
Section 12: Sale of Work
Exhibited Artwork
Selling prices must be rounded to the nearest pound.
The price stated on your submission is the catalogue selling price and this must include the RWA’s commission of 35%+VAT (total 42%).
The information you enter online will be used in all pricing documents. Once the online submissions software has been locked this information cannot be changed, therefore please ensure this information is correct at the time of submission.
Artists will be advised of sales, and payment to the artist will be made at the end of the exhibition, once payment has been received from the purchaser.
The RWA aims to make payment to the artist within 28 days of the end of the exhibition.
If an artwork is purchased through the Own Art scheme then please note that we cannot guarantee payment within the stated 28 days.
Multiples of Exhibited Artwork
Selling prices must be rounded to the nearest pound.
All multiples of prints are sold unframed. Please ensure the price entered reflects this.
The price stated on your submission is the catalogue selling price and this must include the RWA’s commission of 35%+VAT (42% total).
The information you enter online will be used in all pricing documents. Once the online submissions software has been locked this information cannot be changed, therefore please ensure this information is correct at the time of submission.
Artists will be informed of orders for unframed prints and sculpture multiples via email once payment is received by the RWA.
It is the artist’s responsibility to mail/deliver the work to the purchaser within 2 weeks of notification email.
The artist is responsible for all postage or delivery costs.
Unframed digital prints can only be sold if the exhibited work is a digital print.
The sale of giclée prints of original artwork is not permitted.
Section 13: Collecting Your Work
Work can be collected from the RWA on the following dates : Saturday 14th, Sunday 15th Friday 16th January 2023.
In order to collect your work please bring with you a form of ID.
If a third party is collecting work on your behalf, they must bring this with them or a letter or email saying they have permission to collect the work. Work will not be released without this authority.
Works that have not been collected by 17th Januay 2023 will incur a storage charge of £15 per work per week.
If any work submitted has not been collected within 3 months after the closing date the RWA shall be entitled to, without prior notice to the artist, sell or otherwise dispose of such works and to devote the proceeds of such sale or other disposition as it may think fit in its absolute discretion.

If you have arranged for a courier to collect your work, you must email the RWA at least one week in advance at info@rwa.org.uk with details of the collection.
Collection is not allowed on Sundays.
Section 14: Insurance and Damage to Work
Exhibitors are responsible for arranging their own insurance to cover damage or loss to their artwork either in transit or whilst at the Academy.
Work must be insured by the artist from the point of collection if you are using regional transport.
The utmost care will be taken of all works sent in for exhibition, however neither the Academy, its officers nor its representatives will be responsible for any loss or damage whilst the works are in their possession howsoever caused, with the exception of damage to or theft of exhibited works which has been recorded on CCTV.
Section 15: Copyright
Copyright remains with the artist, however, by registering online and agreeing to the terms and conditions the artist agrees that his/her work can be used for the promotion of the RWA and its exhibitions.
Section 16: Withdrawal of entry
Entries can be withdrawn any point up to the submission deadline and will be eligible for a refund.
It is the artist’s responsibility to contact the RWA to arrange the withdrawal of their submission and payment of refund.
Refunds are not permitted beyond the submission deadline, therefore please ensure your work meets the RWA entry criteria before submitting.

General Information
Teesside Print Prize 22 will be showcasing the best and most interesting fine art prints made smaller than 58.2 cm including the mount. These prints will be exhibited across two sites in Teesside for up three months in total and in two online exhibitions where people can purchase work. The exhibition will be held at 2B Gallery Hillstreet Shopping Centre Middlesbrough and Working It Out in the Cornmill Shopping Centre Darlington. All applicants will recieve a catalogue of the exhibited works.
Eligibility
Submissions of work are invited from visual artists working in intaglio and relief printmaking. Including etching, lino prints, mezzotints, monotypes, lithographs, engraving, collagraphs, woodcuts and dry point.
Work is sold from the gallery as seen, mounted and wrapped in cellophane. Other prints from the edition can be bought in the gallery or through the on line gallery, these need to be sent to the purchaser mounted and wrapped.
Works including the mounting can be no bigger than 58.2 cm, any works found to be bigger will be excluded from the exhibition.
Restrictions
All entries must be less than 58.2 cm in any direction this is including the mount.
No frames. No glass or perspex.
Image Uploads
Image files should be JPG or PNG and no more than 5MB large. Upload time will depend on your internet connection speed so please be patient. Pricing
Work selected for exhibition will be expected to be for sale. Commission is charged by the gallery at 28%. The sale price includes the mount and our commission. Please allow for these points when pricing your work. Prices should include VAT if applicable. If you are VAT registered please provide a VAT number in the box provided.
Communications
All communication will be by email. Successful applicants will be notified by email and must respond within one week to confirm participation. Failure to do so could result in work being withdrawn from the exhibition.
Selection
The Selection Committee will select the works for the exhibition from the online applications. The Selectors will then consider on the 12th October 2022, all correctly completed submissions sent in by 11th October 2022. The final judging of exhibited works will be between 1st and 4th November 2022. The decision of the Selectors on all matters is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Insurance
Artists are responsible for insuring their own work. All works accepted for exhibition will be displayed entirely at the artists' risk and organisers and the gallery will not accept liability for loss or damage occurring during the exhibition or through postage and delivery.
Delivery and Collection
Artworks can be sent or delivered from the date the artist is notifed to the deadline of 11th October 2022, any works arriving after this date will be excluded from processing.
Artists are responsible for the delivery of their work to and collection from the Gallery. Artists posting their work need to make sure they are Tracked or Special Delivery, Insured and the return postage is enclosed. All packaging materials will be catalogued and stored for returning artists work, it is your responsibility to make sure return postage has been SUPPLIED. Postage works by weight, we try to make this opportunity as accessible as possibe, by excluding frames and glass, soft lighter fillers are better than hard board or wood coverings. If you are applying from overseas please consider how you pack your work and the cost of sending work.
Work sent without return postage will be charged an administration fee for organising the return of the their work.
Catalogue
All exhibitors will be included in the catalogue. At the discretion of the organisers all aplicants will be included in the catalogue. Details entered in the catalogue will be what has been provided and how it has been provided, it is up to the artist to be sure there are no typing errors. What will be entered into the catalogue, Artists name, title of the work, size of the work, edition number of available prints and date made. What may be included in the catalogue dependant on space; artists email address, website, and country.
Descriptions of the work are purerly for the selectors and judging purposes.

The South West Academy (SWAc) invites all local, national and international fine and applied artists to enter the 2022 Open Exhibition to be held at Kennaway House, Coburg Road, Sidmouth, Devon. EX10 8NG. This is the 23rd consecutive call to artists for this exhibition which has been held ever since the turn of The Millennium. Work in three as well as two dimensions, applied arts and the fine arts are welcomed. Submissions are welcomed in a range of artforms including painting, drawing, print, sculpture, photography, textiles, multi-media, jewellery, glass and ceramics.

Restrictions.
All work should be clearly labelled with the artists’ name, title of work and selling price attached to a label on string attached to the rear of the work. Metal and clip frames are not acceptable. Work which is deemed as sharp or dangerous will not be exhibited. All 2D work should have exhibition quality cord securely attached to D rings on the back for hanging.
Artwork should be no more than 100cm in any direction for 2D work excluding textiles where 200cms long is accepted.
Artwork Types
Pricing
All work selected for exhibition will be expected to be for sale. SWAc commission is charged at 40%. It will be assumed that the sale price includes the cost of any frame and our commission. Please allow for these points when pricing your work. Prices should include VAT if applicable. If you are VAT registered, please provide a VAT number in the box provided. Minimum sales price, excluding editions of prints, £200 per work.
Communications
All communication will be by email or posted on-line. Applicants will be required to login to see if they have been selected and will be asked to download and print their application details to be delivered with the artwork. Please log in after 12 noon on Wednesday 12 October 2022 to check the selection outcome. Failure to do so could result in work being withdrawn from the exhibition. Please make a note of your login-details and password.
Selection
The Selection Committee will select the works for the exhibition. The Selectors will consider all correctly completed submissions. The decision of the Selectors on all matters is final and no correspondence will be entered into. All work preselected on-line will be entered directly into the exhibition as there is no final selection.
Insurance
Artists are responsible for insuring their own work. All works accepted for exhibition will be displayed entirely at the artists' risk and SWAc and Kennaway House will not accept liability for loss or damage occurring during the exhibition.
Delivery and Collection
Artists are responsible for the delivery and collection of their work to Kennaway House. All packaging materials must be removed after delivery (no storage is available for this) and brought back at collection. If you are applying from overseas, please consider how you will get your work to and from the exhibition at the required times.
Work not collected at the stated times will be subject to a daily charge of £10 after the first day and could be disposed of after one month.
Framing
All 2D work should be framed and ready to hang with D rings and suitable cord attached. Box frames of not less than 3.5 cms in depth are acceptable. Metal and clip frames are not acceptable. Any work which is unframed, badly framed or arriving late may be excluded from the exhibition on the discretion of the selectors.
Labels.
Artists should attach a label with string to the reverse of 2D work or front of 3D work with name, title and exhibition sale price. This label should be attached such that the string will hang over the front of 2D work but not hang below once the label and string is placed behind the work.

The 192nd RHA Annual Exhibition 2022 is Ireland’s largest and longest running exhibition of visual art. Open to all artists working in paint, drawing, print, sculpture, photography and architecture, the RHA Annual attracts a large public and critical audience. With sales in excess of €600,000 in 2021, the Annual is a key event of the art calendar for both public and private buyers of all levels.
The open submission is vital to the strength and vitality of the RHA Annual. Works selected through the open submission process make up around 60% of the exhibition with the rest of the artworks from RHA Members and Invited Artists.
This year over €70,000 of prizes will be awarded to exhibiting artists. This prize fund, one of the largest in Ireland, is awarded to artists recognised for works of achievement.

Submission Procedure
Submission is by online entry only. Entries are selected from the digital application (stage1) with successful artists asked to deliver work to RHA for further consideration and possible inclusion in the exhibition (stage 2). Artists are asked to check their accounts for decisions on the dates listed.
Pricing
All work selected for exhibition will be expected to be for sale with the exception of portraits. A commission of 35% is charged by the gallery. It will be assumed that the sale price includes all your costs and our commission. Please allow for these points when pricing your work. Prices should include VAT if applicable.
Communications
All communication will be via the online login process. Applicants will be required to login to see if they have been preselected and will be asked to download and print their application labels and details to be delivered with the artwork. Failure to do so could result in work being withdrawn from the exhibition.
Selection
The selection committee is made up of six members of the Council of the RHA. Artworks are presented anonymously and judged solely on merit. The decision is final and binding and no correspondence or feedback will be entered into under any circumstance.
Insurance
Artists are responsible for insuring their own work. All works accepted for exhibition will be transported entirely at the artists' risk and organisers and the gallery will not accept liability for loss or damage occurring travel to the exhibition or during the selection process.
Delivery and Collection
All works handed in for selection must be:
Works that are of a delicate or fragile nature can be delivered wrapped but must be clearly marked with additional labels on the packaging. The organisers may ask that work is unwrapped should it not be necessary.
Each artwork must have both a tie on and stick on label. Please ensure that the label information matches the information at the time to entry. It is important that all details are included on the form, as incomplete details will deem the entry inadmissible. All works will be checked on entry so please make sure your information is correct.
We accept work from outside the EU. However, you must ensure that your work reaches us on the designated days and is customs compliant. The RHA will not pay customs charges, duty or any associated charges on works arriving by courier. It is the artist’s responsibility to ensure that the work is correctly packaged, as the RHA will not accept responsibility for work damaged in transit or by any third parties.
Unselected works from stage 2 must be collected on the designated days. If an artist is unable to collect on these days, we ask that you ask someone to collect on your behalf or make an appointment to collect at a later date. Works not collected by the end of August 2022 will be liable for a storage charge. Works not collected by end of September 2022 will be disposed of.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
7.1 It would be advantageous for the work not to have been exhibited in Dublin before.
7.2 The RHA reserves the right to reject work that it believes is in breach of copyright laws.
7.3 Work must be professionally presented for exhibition. All artworks must be presented with complete mechanisms for hanging. Exposed wet canvases or works that could cause damage to others will not be accepted under any circumstances. Work that arrives damaged or unfit for exhibition due to any material defect will be automatically deemed ineligible for exhibition.
7.4 All works must be marked for sale with the exception of portraits.
7.5 Artist sending works from outside the EU are responsible for payment of any associated duties or taxes. The RHA will not be responsible for resolving any customs issues that may occur.
7.6 The upmost care will be taken of all works submitted for exhibition. The RHA will not be responsible for any damage, loss of or destruction of any works for any reason whatsoever. Artists should insure their works against all risks. Works are insured when accepted to the exhibition and condition checked by the gallery.
7.7 In order to meet deadlines, incomplete applications will not be accepted. The RHA will not be responsible for any errors or omissions in the catalogue. The RHA will not be liable for any loss arising out of any error, omission or decision made by the committee.
7.8 Work not collected from the RHA on the designated days will be liable to a storage charge or disposed of.
7.9 The artist allows the RHA to use images of any artwork for publicity and public engagement purposes only. This includes television, print (catalogue, newspapers, trade publications), website (RHA and others), social media (RHA and others) and any other method that the RHA deems fit for purpose.
7.10 No work may be removed from the exhibition until after the close of the exhibition.
7.11 Sold work is marked with a red dot. A non-refundable and non-transferable deposit of 20% is required to secure a sale. The RHA will not be liable for any loss arising out of the failure by a purchaser to complete a sale or the mis-marking of any piece sold. 35% commission from the listed catalogue price will be deducted from all works sold during the exhibition. Artists will be paid after the close of the exhibition and only if the RHA has been fully paid by the buyer.
7.12 The RHA will not undertake the wrapping, crating and packing of any artworks.
7.13 For awards with age constraints, the artist must be below or the relevant age on the date of submission in order to qualify, in this case 28 February 2022.

Established in 1919, the Society of Graphic Fine Art exists to promote and exhibit original works of high quality in colour or black and white, with the emphasis on excellence in drawing and draughtsmanship, demonstrated by hand.
This includes all media including pencil, pen, brush,
painting, charcoal, conté and any of the forms of original printmaking.
The Society holds an annual Open exhibition in London with selected work, several Members Only exhibitions with no selection, in London and the regions and also online exhibitions including the Open exhibition.

Eligibility
Submissions of work are invited from visual artists working in any medium which demonstrate evidence of drawing.
Artwork Types
The SGFA exists to promote fine art drawing skills, to this end the selection committee will be looking for strong evidence of drawing in the work submitted.
Work that is eligible for submission includes: Drawings in any medium, monochrome or colour - pencil, coloured pens and pencils, pen and ink, pastels and oil pastels, charcoal, conté, etc.
Size of Pictures based on outside frame measurements:
Pictures up to 80 cm x 80 cm count as 1 work = £20.
Pictures between 80 cm x 1.60 m count as 2 works = £40 (largest dimension)
Pictures over this size count as 3 works = £60 and are at the Council's discretion.
Please select the entry number accordingly at the start of the entry process to make the correct payment. Oversized artworks submitted with incorrect payment will not be hung.
Any original artwork which demonstrates evidence of drawing by hand: - original printmaking, watercolours, acrylics, oils and 3-Dimensional work.
Restrictions
Work that is NOT eligible includes:
Digital imagery generated by computer.
Giclee prints and all other reproductions and facsimiles.
Work shown previously at Mall Galleries or hung in an SGFA London exhibition.
Work that is more than three years old.
Any work that might infringe on copyright law or is an identifiable reproduction of another’s composition (regardless of media) even with copyright waiver, or if the permission of the artist has been obtained.
All work must be for sale.
Pricing for framed work must observe minimum prices: Paintings and drawings £300; editioned prints £180
Instructions for selected framed work
All framed work must be presented unpacked, labelled and ready for hanging.
Work must be labelled on the back in BLOCK CAPITALS with: Name of Artist, Title, Medium, Price.
Framing must be robust and sealed.
No hooks are required. Works should be sufficient to withstand mirror plating for hanging purposes. There should be no projections whatsoever from the back or front of the works. This is to prevent damage to other works.
Metal frames and clip frames are inadmissible. Elaborate framing and/or coloured mounts are not acceptable.

The SGFA reserves the right to reject any work which has framing unsuitable for hanging, or is presented in an unacceptable condition.

Pricing
Work selected for exhibition must be for sale. Commission of 40% will be charged for non-member sales and 35% for members’ sales. It will be assumed that the sale price includes the cost of any frame and our commission. Please allow for these points when pricing your work. Prices should include VAT if applicable. If you are VAT registered, please provide a VAT number in the box provided.
Communications
All communication will be by email or via the online login process. Applicants will be required to login to see if they have been selected and will be asked to download and print their application details to be delivered with the artwork. Failure to do so could result in work being withdrawn from the exhibition.
Selection
The Selection Committee will select the works for the exhibition. The Selectors will consider all correctly completed submissions. The decision of the Selectors on all matters is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Please note: Non-members and Affiliates may submit up to 5 artworks in total of which only a maximum of 3 works will be accepted.
Insurance
Artists are responsible for insuring their own work. All works accepted for exhibition will be displayed entirely at the artists' risk and organisers and the gallery will not accept liability for loss or damage occurring during the exhibition.
Delivery and Collection
Artists are responsible for the delivery and collection of their work at the Mall Galleries. All packaging materials must be removed after delivery (no gallery storage is available for this) and brought back at collection. If you are applying from overseas, please consider how you will get your work to and from the exhibition at the required times.
Work not collected at the stated times will be transported to Art Moves of Chelsea and subject to a weekly charge.
If selected your work must be delivered and collected directly to/from the Mall Galleries. Or you can make your own arrangements with Art Moves of Chelsea where there will be a charge for storage and delivery/collection at your own cost. Also Art Moves will charge per week for late collection at your own cost.

Exhibiting excellence in every botanical art form
The Society invites artists to submit their very best work to our open exhibition. Whether an artist working in watercolour, oils, gouache, graphite, colour pencil or pen & ink, a botanical illustrator, a printmaker, ceramic artists, sculptor, jeweller or glass artist, we are seeking work with a strong exhibiting presence to be part of our show at the Mall Galleries.
Our only criteria are that all work must:
Be predominantly of botanical content
Be botanically accurate
Be visually pleasing
Have strong wall appeal
Be work you are proud of
All work must be original (all prints must be hand pulled and NOT giclee). We regret we do not accept photography or other digital art forms.

General Information
The exhibition will be held at Mall Galleries in The Mall near Admiralty Arch.
Eligibility
Submissions of work are invited from visual artists working in any two or three-dimensional artwork except for photography and giclee printing (or similar).
Submission Procedure
Submission is by online entry only. Please click on the link from our website and follow the instructions. Please note refunds will not be given in the event of work not being selected.
Pricing
Work selected for exhibition must be for sale. There is a minimum sale price for work less than 40cm on the longest side of £395 and a minimum price of £495 for work over 40cm on the longest length. Commission is payable to the Society as follows:
Members (all classes): Works less than 75cm on longest side 35%
Works larger than 75cm on longest side 40%
Non members Works less than 75cm on longest side 45%
Works larger than 75cm on longest side 50%
It will be assumed that the stated sale price includes the cost of any frame and the commission. Please allow for these points when pricing your work. Prices should include VAT if applicable. If you are VAT registered, please provide a VAT number in the box provided.
Measurements
You must provide the framed measurements of the work in cm. This is for inclusion in the catalogue, as well as to aid in the selection process and for planning the hang.
Communications

It is very difficult to assess work from poor photographs so please submit scans or very good photographs to show your work at its best. Good results can be obtained with tablets and mobile phones, but take care to ensure that there is sufficient light (especially when the background appears as grey on a photograph), that the image is in focus, there are no reflections through glass, or bad angles from work being propped up. The Selection Committee encourages artists to choose simple plain mounts and wooden frames (which can accommodate mirror plate fixings) that will not detract from the work or interfere with adjacent works in the exhibition; poor presentation may prejudice acceptance. Work framed with clips is not admissible. Acrylic ‘glass’ may be used for oversize work and for work submitted by overseas artists, as supplied by a framer, and it must of good display quality and be free from scratches and be as scratch resistant as possible. Artglass or similar which minmises reflections is acceptable.
Insurance

ALL 3D Artwork
For 3D and Sculptural work, it is single stage digital submission/selection process only. Artists must go online for results to the digital selection and for final selection results. If successful, you will be contacted about bringing work in on the 5th.
2. Imagery - The quality of the images up loaded are integral to work being selected because these are the images that will be used in the online Exhibition. Please ensure the images are sharp and cropped appropriately. Image files should be JPG or PNG and no more than 5MB large. Upload time will depend on your internet connection speed so please be patient. If you are having problems uploading your images, please use image editing software to resize your image to approximately 1600 pixels wide and then save as a new file. 3. Submission - Submission fees for non-members is £18 per work, irrespective of size or medium, to be paid at the time of submission. Young artists (age 18-35 years) is £9 per work and members enter free.
4. Number of works & Membership - Up to 6 works may be submitted but maximum of four works can be displayed. We are looking to select new Associate members (ASWA) or full members this years. So if you wish to be considered for either of these you must enter 6 artworks.
5. Frames, Presentation and Sizes All pictures must be securely framed. Frames should be stout enough to accept
mirror plates (supplied and attached by the Mall galleries) at the back for hanging purposes. There should be no hanging hooks or any projections whatsoever from the back of the frames. This is to prevent damage to other works in stacking and also because mirror plates hold the work tight against the wall and projections could bend the frame and cause damage. Frames and mounts of unusual colour, size or design may prejudice the chance of hanging
• Metal frames are not admissible.
• Glazed works with unprotected glass edges are not admissible.
• Only newer forms of Non reflective glass are acceptable.
• Well presented box canvases are acceptable.
Size - There will be a maximum submission size for paintings and sculpture this year of 200cm. All works will be judged by merit.
6. NOTIFICATION OF RESULTS - Non members work will go through digital selection. Successful entries will be handed in at 17 Carlton House Terrace, selection will then take place by a panel of judges for inclusion to the exhibition. Non members will be able to find out the results of final selection on the 28th June 2022. Non members work not selected will need to be collected from 17 Carlton House Terrace on the 30th June 2022.
7. Sale Price & Commission - The price of works supplied by the artist should include the commission of 45% for non members and 40% for members. The SWA will be donating 5% of the sale price to the Charity Breast Cancer Now. All work must be for sale, except by prior consent from the SWA. Minimum Sale prices for works: £350, and £150 for etchings or lithography or drawings, £200 for 3D works. The aforementioned is applicable on commissioned work arranged through the Exhibition Administrators. Any sale effected by the Exhibition Administrators will have priority over a sale effected by the artist. Please note that artists liable to VAT are responsible for paying their own tax.
8. VAT Registration for Artists Not Resident in the UK - Our open exhibition is open to artists in the UK, EU, and outside the EU. Artists who are not resident in the UK have a responsibility to register and for UK VAT with H.M. Revenue & Customs.
Artists without a UK residence are classified as Non-Established Taxable Persons (NETPs) and must register with HMRC (HM Revenue + Customs) for a UK VAT number before they can exhibit artworks in our Online Exhibition. A valid UK VAT number is prefaced with the letters “GB”
We will not accept VAT numbers from other countries
You must enter the retail price of your artwork when entering online and then can wait to see if your artwork is accepted before you register for a UK VAT number.
You must provide us with your UK VAT number before the exhibition. If you do not, we will not be able to enter your selected artwork(s) into the exhibition.
NB. An application for a VAT number should take around 30 working days, although the process may take longer, so make sure you allow enough time.

9. Etchings and Original Printmaking - Original unique printing is acceptable, Etchings must show their plate indentations. Commercially printed line work or photographically/digitally reproduced work printed with commercial machines (such as giclée work) is not admissible.
10. Commercial carriers - can be used to deliver works to buyers where necessary, please see the list of trusted experienced carriers below. These are not part of the SWA and must be contacted and dealt with directly.
11. Press Photographs - Unless otherwise stated in writing by the artist, works exhibited may be used for Press purposes in connection with the Exhibition.
12. Copyright - The Copyright of all works, other than commissioned work, remains the property of the artist. Any enquiries for copyright will be referred to the artist.
13. Care of Works - The Exhibition Administrators will not be liable for any damage or loss of works when posting or delivering sold work. The Society of Women Artists strongly advises artists to insure their own works.
14. Sales of Work and Notification - All Work accepted and included must be exclusive to the SWA for the duration of the exhibition. If the work is sold through another platform or by the artists during the exhibition the SWA's commission will still be payable. If work in the Exhibition has been sold, exhibitors will be notified by email as soon as possible.
15. Invitations and flyers: Digital invitations or flyers and a press release will be emailed to all selected artists to forward to buyers, collectors, press and any other contacts they would like to see the exhibition.
16. The SWA reserves the right to disqualify any Work if the artist has failed to adhere to these Terms and Conditions and the relevant rules. Works previously exhibited with the SWA are not eligible for entry.
17. Care of Works The Exhibition Administrators will not be liable for any damage or loss of works sent for exhibition occurring
in the ordinary course of handling, whether such damage or loss is caused by the negligence of the Exhibition Administrators or their staff or otherwise. The Society of Women Artists strongly advises artists to insure their own works.

Submission Procedure
All work must be submitted online. Pre-selection from online entries will take place, after which pre-selected works should be delivered to The Gallery at Green & Stone, London, for final selection.
Pricing
Work selected for exhibition will be expected to be for sale. Commission is charged by the gallery. It will be assumed that the sale price includes the cost of any frame and our commission. Please allow for these points when pricing your work. Prices should include VAT if applicable. If you are VAT registered, please provide a VAT number in the box provided.
Communications
All communication will be by email or via the online login process. Applicants will be required to login to see if they have been preselected and will be asked to download and print their application details to be delivered with the artwork. Failure to do so could result in work being withdrawn from the exhibition.
Selection
The Selection Committee will select the works for the exhibition. The Selectors will consider all correctly completed submissions. The decision of the Selectors on all matters is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Insurance
Artists are responsible for insuring their own work. All works accepted for exhibition will be displayed entirely at the artists' risk and organisers and the gallery will not accept liability for loss or damage occurring during the exhibition.
Delivery and Collection
Artists are responsible for the delivery and collection of their work at the Gallery. All packaging materials must be removed after delivery (no gallery storage is available for this) and brought back at collection. If you are applying from overseas, please consider how you will get your work to and from the exhibition at the required times. Work not collected at the stated times will be subject to a daily charge of £20 and will be disposed of after one week.
Agreement
By submitting to the exhibition you are deemed to accept and agree to the following:

Open Submissions from Non Members
The Dublin Painting and Sketching Club (founded 1874) is pleased to announce its seventh Open Exhibition. Non-members are invited to submit paintings for the Club’s 2022 exhibition, which will be held in the Town Hall Space, Windmill Lane Quarter, Windmill Lane, Dublin 1 from 18th of Sept - 1st October 2022.
All forms of traditional 2D media may be submitted- including painting, drawing, printmaking, and mixed media.
Photography and giclee prints not accepted.
Up to two paintings can be submitted by artists resident/working in Ireland.
Please note: Only one painting will be selected for exhibition.
A prize of 500 euro will be awarded for the painting selected as the best Open Submission painting exhibited.
Initially, artists must submit their work as digital images. These can be JPEG or PNG with a file size of approx. 1.0Mb but no greater than 5Mb
In the event of Government Covid Restrictions or other unforeseen events this exhibition may go online.

CALL FOR ENTRIES EXTENDED TO MONDAY 1ST AUGUST AT NOON
The Royal Ulster Academy of Arts (RUA) was founded in 1879 and is the largest and longest established body of practicing visual artists in Northern Ireland today.
THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO MONDAY 1ST AUGUST 2022 AT NOON.
Submissions are welcomed from artists working in a range of artforms including painting, drawing, print, sculpture, photography, textiles, digital, video, audio, multi-media, glass and ceramics.
The RUA is delighted to confirm that the 2022 Adjudicator is the well known Belfast-born artist, writer, DJ, broadcaster and journalist, Joe Lindsay.

General Information
The 141st Royal Ulster Academy of Arts (RUA) Annual exhibition is due be held at the Ulster Museum, Botanic Gardens, Belfast from 14 October 2022 to 3 January 2023.
Eligibility
Submissions of work are invited from visual artists working in any medium. Anyone over the age of 18 may submit work. There is no maximum age limit.
NB: No member of the Selection Committee or Staff member may enter work for open selection to the Annual Exhibition.
Restrictions
Attention all video artists. Here is a unique opportunity to showcase your work in a dedicated video space as part of the biggest exhibition in Northern Ireland.
Video Works
Submissions for single channel video works will be selected on behalf of RUA by an esteemed panel made up of: Ulster Museum's Curator of Art, Anna Liesching; Dr. Angela Halliday, Director of the Digital Art Studios - Belfast; and Peter Richards, Director of the Golden Thread Gallery.
Selected works will be included in a looped showreel installed in a dedicated video projection space within the exhibition. As such, we are only seeking submissions of SINGLE CHANNEL VIDEO WORKS.
One video will be awarded the RUA video art prize and will be installed in a projection room of its own for the duration of the exhibition. With this in mind we would advise selecting works for submission no longer than 20 minutes in duration.
Please do not transfer files unles selected and requested to do so.
Your submission must include a link to your preferred URL, for example your Website, Vimeo or YouTube channel or alternative Account. Do include a password (if the work is password protected) allowing the selectors to independently view your work.
